Support Your Local Food Bank This Holiday Season!

Support Your Local Food Bank This Holiday Season!

There is no better way of celebrating the holiday season than giving back to your community. If you are looking for ways to make a difference in the lives of others, consider donating healthy food items to your local food bank. By doing so, you can play an essential role in helping to combat food insecurity issues in your community.

Local food banks work tirelessly to serve our communities while providing a growing number of food-insecure families which access to food. These families can be so limited in their resources that they often run out of food. Additionally, limited resources can impact the quality of the food they have access to, leading to unbalanced meals or skipping meals altogether.

Those who count on a food bank might not always choose what they receive, but you have options when deciding to make a food donation. This holiday season, we'd like to encourage you to consider donating healthy and nutritious items to your local food bank, including:

  • Quinoa
  • Dried beans: specifically, lentils, peas, chickpeas, etc.
  • Canned broth (chicken and vegetable)
  • Tea (herbal, black, or green)
  • Brown rice
  • Oatmeal (whole oats or steel-cut oats) skip the flavor packets
  • Whole wheat pasta
  • Flour (unbleached or wheat)
  • Canned tomatoes
  • Olive oil

Our GOLO employees have begun collecting food donations to support food banks near our corporate offices. Join us in helping others by contributing food items or a financial gift to one of the food banks in your community.
