U.S. District Court Rules in Favor of GOLO and Dismisses Class Action Lawsuit

NEWARK, DE (January 16, 2024) – Judge Dale A. Drozd from the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California recently issued a nine-page decision granting GOLO's motion to dismiss a false advertising class action lawsuit filed against the company by Vincenzza Bubak in 2021.

The dismissal comes early on in its procedural status and reflects GOLO’s consistent view that the lawsuit was without merit.

"We are very pleased with this result and the Court's decision here,” said Chris Lundin, GOLO’s CEO.  “GOLO has always been and remains committed to providing our customers with safe, effective, and sustainable solutions to their health, wellness, and weight loss needs."

“There has been some misleading information online about this case, and the Court’s ruling for GOLO should provide clarity to the record,” added Keith Walter, GOLO’s General Counsel. “This decision also validates GOLO’s position from the outset that this class action lawsuit should have never been filed, and I am glad to see it concluded with the Judge applying recent Ninth Circuit precedent.”

About GOLO:

GOLO has provided health and wellness solutions since 2013 and has over 4 million customers. Headquartered in Newark, Delaware, GOLO has distribution centers in Wilmington, Delaware, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Dallas, Texas, and employs over 130 people.

GOLO’s flagship products are the GOLO for Life® Plan, a servings-based healthy eating program, and the patented Release® dietary supplement.  The health benefits of GOLO and Release have been confirmed in clinical studies and there are over 100 studies on the safety and efficacy of the ingredients in Release.

The Release supplement contains seven plant-based ingredients and three minerals.   Key ingredients in Release have been extensively studied and shown to improve metabolic efficiency, help balance key hormones associated with weight, enhance the immune system, increase energy, and reduce stress and mental fatigue, common factors associated with dieting. Release contains no caffeine or stimulants.

GOLO’s dual action and back-to-basics holistic approach to weight loss and wellness focuses on metabolic health, sustainable behavior and lifestyle change, resulting in steady weight loss. GOLO provides a safe, affordable, and effective total wellness solution.

GOLO’s approach does not include the use of weight loss drugs which come with numerous potential side effects and significant health risks. GOLO firmly believes that weight loss drugs are ineffective for long-term weight loss and do not address the root cause of weight gain. GOLO encourages and empowers people to embrace healthy lifestyle changes, proper nutrition, and emotional well-being instead of quick-fix drugs or fad diets. By adopting a holistic approach to weight management, GOLO can help individuals achieve lasting results and lead healthier, happier lives.

GOLO Named to Newsweek’s America’s Best Customer Service List

NEWARK, DE, (October 10, 2023) – GOLO, the health and wellness solutions company, has been named to Newsweek’s list of America’s Best Customer Service 2024 in the “Nutrition and Weight-loss Program” category. Newsweek’s America’s Best Customer Service 2024 rankings are based on research conducted in 2023 by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider. The rankings run from September 2023 to September 2024.

"We are incredibly proud and honored to receive this recognition from Newsweek," said Jennifer Brooks, President and Co-founder of GOLO. "We have some of the most passionate and loyal customers in the industry - and providing them with exceptional service is a top priority that we work hard to deliver on every day."

GOLO was founded on a single idea: to help people achieve a healthier and sustainable lifestyle. Today, the company has reached over four million people worldwide.

“When it comes to achieving a healthier lifestyle, no one does it alone, which is why the role of customer service is so vitally important,” added Brooks.

The 2024 America’s Best Customer Service rankings were identified from the results of an independent survey of more than 30,000 U.S. customers who have either made purchases, used services, or gathered information about products or services in the past three years. In total, over 200,000 evaluations were collected. The survey was conducted on retailers and service providers from 166 categories, providing results for a broad spectrum of customer experiences in traditional retail, online, and service segments. For each category, the most relevant brands were included in the scope of the survey according to reputation, turnover, or market share.

Earlier this year, GOLO's customer-driven TV advertising campaign was also recognized and honored for its industry thought leadership and impact.
