JoAnn before and after

Proof that you can still lose weight after 50!

JoAnn was no stranger to the world of dieting. Having struggled with her weight her entire life, she underwent gastric bypass surgery and initially found success, but eventually the weight came back.

"I lost a lot of weight after gastric bypass surgery, but it didn't work long-term because it did not teach me how to eat."

Not wanting to give up on her goals, she tried what she referred to as a 'starvation diet' plus lots of exercise. She was able to lose weight for a while, but it wasn't sustainable. Eventually, she gained back what she lost and then some.

In 2023, JoAnn was turning 50. She wasn’t feeling well or sleeping well and felt lost. Having always heard that losing weight becomes increasingly more difficult as you get older, she was concerned that she was out of options.

“I didn’t know where to go or who to reach out to. I was terrified I would never be able to lose weight again.”

That’s when she decided to try GOLO.

"I saw a GOLO commercial and thought, let's try it. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. But here's a start. And it was the best decision I've ever made."

The GOLO difference.

JoAnn experienced success early on and lost weight in her first week. But the biggest difference she noticed compared to other weight loss plans was that GOLO showed her how to eat the right way.

“Other plans did not work for me because they didn’t teach me what foods I should eat to maintain a healthy weight. They don’t teach you proper nutrition and make food the enemy. But with GOLO, food is fuel. It teaches you how to eat, and I have completely transformed my relationship with food.”

JoAnn's key tools for success.

Six months into her GOLO journey, JoAnn was down over 60 pounds and feeling great. And she owed it all to what she called her key tools for success.

Diet: “The GOLO 2-1-2-1 plan is not hard, makes sense, and you don’t starve yourself. It’s sustainable. After losing the weight with a GOLO, I will never have to diet again.”

Mindset: “I learned to forgive myself for past weight loss attempts that didn’t work. Forgiving myself was key in order for me to be able to move forward with this process.”

Exercise: "I knew from past experiences that I had to work out, so I try to exercise every day. Whether it's walking, running, or weight training, I am so proud that I’ve stuck with it."

Motivation: “I didn’t want to hide from life anymore. That was my motivation. And I stay motivated with what I call ‘Be Proud Gifts.’ When I am proud of what I accomplished, I treat myself to a mani-pedi or a new outfit, something besides food to celebrate what I’ve done.”

JoAnn did it, and so can you!

As 2023 came to a close, JoAnn was down 75 pounds and filled with joy because of her progress. She was also loving the fact that she proved anyone wrong who says you can’t lose weight after 50.

“The other times I've lost weight, I was tired and run down. With GOLO, I feel great as I lose weight, and I've got a few more pounds to lose to reach my personal goal. I feel like I've broken the myth that you can’t lose weight after 50 because I'm here to say that you can do it.”
