Revette's progress check-in: choosing herself again
At nearly 100 pounds down, Revette says her journey is about much more than weight loss.
“I’ve got a goal,” she said. “And I’ve got a mission.”
But getting to this point took years of healing, recovery, setbacks, and learning how to finally choose herself.
THE STATS
Starting weight: 375 pounds
Progress: 95 pounds (and counting!)
Goal weight: 185 pounds
Revette’s beginnings
Long before GOLO, Revette had already endured more than many people will ever face. She grew up in a difficult environment where she learned to survive before she learned to feel safe.
For years, Revette struggled with addiction and the emotional weight of her past. Through treatment and recovery, she slowly began to understand how deeply trauma had shaped her life.
On August 4, 2004, Revette got clean, and she never looked back!
Sobriety helped introduce stability and healing to her life, but medication, depression, and years of using food as comfort all played a role in her next hurdle — weight gain. At one point, she put all her energy into losing weight and successfully lost 150 pounds, but keeping it off proved harder than she thought.
A new chapter
In 2016, her life changed in a way she never expected. After years of wanting a child, Revette began caring for the infant daughter of a family member and eventually adopted her.
Motherhood gave her a new sense of purpose, but as she focused on caring for everyone else, she stopped caring for herself.
After adopting her daughter, life became busier, routines changed, and Revette’s own health slowly moved to the background.
“As my weight increased, so did my depression,” she says. “I was getting bigger and bigger, and I was feeling sorry for myself.”
But there was one thing she knew for certain: giving up was no longer an option.
“I’ve got this little girl now."
That realization became part of what led her to GOLO.
Starting again
Like many people trying to lose weight, Revette’s journey was not perfect. She first started GOLO in 2023 and initially saw success, losing weight within her first month. But stress and the challenges of maintaining new habits eventually caused her to fall away from the program.
Still, Revette did not see that as a failure. She came back.
A triumphant return
On January 14, 2025, Revette recommitted to her journey. This time, she focused on consistency. She followed the GOLO 2-1-2-1 Diet, returned to the gym, and built healthier habits one step at a time.
She restarted her journey at 375 pounds. At the time of her interview, Revette weighed 280 pounds. “I’m just a few pounds from losing 100!"
For Revette, this journey is not only about the number on the scale. It’s also about healing, being present for her daughter, and proving to herself that the past does not get to define her future.
Her new lifestyle
Over time, Revette has learned to approach her health differently. She uses GOLO’s meal plans as a guide, focuses on moderation instead of perfection, and has noticed positive changes since restarting the Release® supplement.
“I don’t have those sugar cravings, and I don’t snack”, says Revette.
She also understands that progress is not always linear. “There is no shame in restarting,” and “There is power in coming back.”
Today, Revette is a wife, a mother, a survivor, and an inspiration. We know she will reach her final goal because she has a mission that she refuses to let out of her sight.
