Brad's 380-pound weight loss: How he transformed his health without surgery or GLP-1 medications

By Eden Covington on September 03, 2026

Brad's loss was a big win.

At his heaviest, Brad estimates he weighed more than 650 pounds. The scale at his doctor's office couldn't even measure his weight — it maxed out with an error code every time he stepped on it.

Brad had reached his limit. He felt isolated and ashamed, and his family and friends were deeply concerned about his health. Their concerns were understandable: he was taking medication to manage high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

It was time to make a change.

He chose not to pursue weight loss surgery or GLP-1 medications. Instead, he committed to losing weight with the Release® supplement, healthier habits, and guidance from GOLO®.

Life before losing weight

Brad's weight affected nearly every part of his life. He struggled with everyday activities, including just getting in and out of bed, and often avoided social situations because he felt lonely, insecure, and uncomfortable in his own skin.

"Before, I felt almost invisible in a crowd — or I wanted to be because I didn't want to be seen."

He constantly adjusted his shirt to hide his stomach and lacked the confidence to be around other people.

Finding GOLO

Brad had tried losing weight with fad diets several times before, but his progress never lasted.

"Whenever I lost weight, I would immediately see that as an excuse to start eating how I used to."

Everything changed when his mother and stepfather saw GOLO commercials and decided to try the Release supplement. They encouraged Brad to try it with them.

How Brad lost more than 380 pounds

Brad's transformation didn’t happen overnight. It was the result of four years of consistency.

His approach included:

  • Taking the Release supplement as part of the GOLO program

  • Eating balanced meals centered on whole, minimally processed foods

  • Eliminating habitual snacking

  • Walking 30 to 60 minutes each day

  • Staying consistent, even while working in a fast-food restaurant surrounded by tempting foods

As with most weight loss journeys, Brad hit a few plateaus along the way. But whenever his weight loss stalled, he refused to let it break his spirit.

“I changed up my eating habits slightly and pushed myself a bit further in my workouts to get my metabolism going again. Then things tended to work themselves out.”

Health improvements beyond the scale

Brad noticed positive changes that went beyond his appearance. He also shared that his doctors discontinued his blood pressure medication and reduced his cholesterol medication.

Gaining confidence

The physical changes were significant, but the emotional changes were just as meaningful.

"I never had much self-confidence before, so having some now is kind of a whole new experience."

Brad no longer worries about exercising in front of other people. Instead, he enjoys going to the gym and focuses on building muscle.

His transformation also changed the way other people saw him.

Although coworkers gradually became accustomed to his weight loss, one experience stood out. While walking through his apartment complex, a group of women stopped him to say they had noticed his progress.

For Brad, that simple interaction was unforgettable and an instant confidence booster.

Being recognized by complete strangers made him realize that years of hard work had become visible to others.

Looking ahead

Today, nearly all of Brad's clothes are too large. He's excited to build a new wardrobe — including something he's wanted for years: a tailored three-piece suit.

More importantly, he's looking forward to living with confidence instead of hiding from the world.

After years of wanting to be invisible, Brad finally feels ready to approach someone, ask them on a date, and handle whatever happens with confidence.

Brad's advice for others interested in weight loss

Brad hopes his story encourages other people who feel overwhelmed by weight loss.

"With a little hard work and willpower, GOLO can change your life if you just give it the chance. I want my example to give someone else the idea that it's not too late to change."

Belly fat, also known as visceral or "hidden fat," is stored deep inside the belly. Some amount of belly fat, roughly 10% of your total body fat, is normal and helps protect your organs. However, too much of it can be dangerous for your health.
