Your body is in a constant state of detox, as long as you have a functioning liver, kidneys, colon, and sometimes even your lungs chip in on the process. When you change your diet, and specifically going from eating those not so healthy foods (refined sugar, refined wheat, excess caffeine, MSG, food coloring/additives) to healthy, balanced meals, your body will start to release built up toxins which can lead to some not so pleasant symptoms.
Some of the symptoms you may experience include nausea, headaches, irritability, gas or bloating, and even difficulty sleeping. They should only last a few days (depending on your past eating habits) and when you have gotten them out of your system, you will feel amazing. Some foods you can focus on to make detoxifying easier include eggs, fish, leafy greens, berries, and brown rice. All of these foods contain vitamins and essential fats or fiber that will aid in detoxing. You should also increase your water intake too! Water will help flush out your system.
